From the desk of Mickey Jackson, Program Director
Over the past eleven years, I have learned a lot from the training and experience I have had at Carver Community Center, Inc.
I would like to share 10 valuable things that have helped me to maintain Carver’s legacy:
• A spiritual relationship with God is the most valuable thing in a person’s life.
• There are only two things that can never be taken from an individual: your education & salvation.
• Always tell the truth, that way you don’t have to remember anything.
• It (still) takes a village to raise a child. – African Proverb
• One must respect himself/herself before others can.
• Always reflect what you expect.
• With situations, remember to always eat the fish and leave the bones on the plate.
• If you have what it takes, run with it; if you don’t have what it takes, run on without it.
• Money won’t make you happy, but happy definitely makes you money.
• Quitters don’t win; winners don’t quit.
